If I do not have items on hand when designing a custom order some products must be orderd and shipped.  Many items must be ordered in bulk and the cost of the bulk order plus shipping are not included in the end total of the  supplies used.  I charge the client for only what is actually used and not the price of the bulk order.  I have to absorb the cost of the bulk order at the time and try to put to use the remainder of the supplies.
